As a student of Sarah and Ty’s since 2010, I have had the good fortune to attend several trainings and retreats through IYI. Each one significant and transformative; driving my personal and spiritual exploration and growth as a teacher and practitioner. The supportive container created by fellow retreaters and Sarah and Ty facilitates authentic, deep work. I always leave with more courage and trust in my heart. I am forever grateful.

I took many trainings from Sarah beginning in 2006. Sarah’s teaching changed the trajectory of my teaching and has contributed to a paradigm shift in how I inhabit my body home.

Having silent retreated for the last 6 years with Sarah & Ty, I have really enjoyed how each retreat has flowed into the next one. Even though being a year apart, following their guidance and teachings in self-practice, things connect and start to make sense bringing about a sense of an ability to teach in a clearer way and also feel life in a more open-minded, open-hearted way. So thank you. Also really enjoy the ability of the teachings being serious but shared in a light-hearted way.

Amazing, insightful and opening. I look forward to studying with Sarah and Ty again in the future. The teachings I absorbed will give me so much depth and insight into my own practice…. Thank you.

Very special to be on this retreat. Valuable days for coming home to myself. Bumped up against a sticky aspect of myself (deeply rooted samskara!) during my meeting with Ty. Prompted to look deeper into this with psychotherapeutic support. Feeling connected to daily mediation practise, supported by the many tools and prompts for self enquiry you offered. Many thanks to you (your utterly beautiful words!) and the sangha for juicing up the practice of self enquiry further.

This teacher training was challenging but gave a new boost and more depth to my personal practice. I used to practice Raja Yoga meditation, but I found the Mindfulness meditation teachings offered more accessible. Sarah & Ty Powers are both inspiring and motivational teachers. They have a lot of knowledge and wisdom and they teach with great compassion. I hope to be able to empower my students the same way they did for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed this silent retreat and have a much deeper understanding of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness. The silence provided the perfect opportunity for reflection and inward growth while the teachings helped me continue to understand and cultivate these skills. Sarah and Ty’s teaching craft is deliberate leading us deeper into ourselves and the dharma. I felt deeply nurtured and nourished.

Maintaining silence is a key element to finding your inner magic. Being true to myself through out the retreat week was vitally important to deepening my practice of mediation and gaining greater understanding of self. The formula Sarah and Ty use in their teachings is immeasurably powerful. Their compassion and dedication is boundless, and I can’t thank them both enough for sharing their knowledge and wisdom with us all.

For my first silent retreat, I found the experience just as I’d hoped. I loved the aspect of just you and no one else’s stories. No phone, no internet – the silence was so beautiful, awareness deeply touching and healing. Deepening my practice and aligning my path – to include more meditation and inquiry.

These trainings have been so well considered and delivered. Sarah and Ty present really deep teachings in a logical and accessible way. In gratitude, I receive their abundant knowledge and teachings, returning home enriched and inspired. I am also blessed to meet likeminded souls that I continue to keep contact. The training inspired the drawings below.

Wow – what an incredible teacher training experience, I have been practising yoga for over 20 years now and teaching for around 10. This training was incredibly inspirational – Sarah’s level of knowledge and experience is exceptional and her down to earth approach and wonderful delivery of concepts & information makes training so enjoyable – I couldn’t absorb enough!
— Vanessa M.
The course was so unique. The cross cultural offerings across many traditions and philosophies as well neuroscience was incredibly inspiring and open. The process in which Sarah teaches the content is so logical and understandable.

Thank you Sarah and Ty for creating and holding space that felt spacious, calm and potent. Being silent was exquisite and delicious – I kept pinching myself with delight – and the journey into the 4 pillars of mindfulness was gentle and supportive – so important for a beginner meditator like me. Each day filled me with deep gratitude for what I do, where I was and what I was experiencing.

I am so grateful to Sarah for sharing her incredible wisdom and passion of yin and yang yoga and for weaving the jewels of mindfulness meditation throughout each day. Every day was a delicious blend of learning, feeling, breathing and moving. Priceless!

The deepest experience is the inner silence, even during Sarah’s teachings. The body, breathing, mind comes into presence and a meditative state. The warm Yang practice, opening the density of structures allows a deep Yin Yoga experience. Important for me is the healing aspect and Sarah’s connection to Buddhism. And I like her livingroom-teachings. Namaste.

Lovely setting for a spiritual yoga retreat. Wonderful teachers who impart ancient knowledge.
— Debra C.

Sarah is quite adept in covering vast ranges of material, interlocking them in ways that makes it easy and understandable to follow. There are senior teachers I have experienced far less in tune with equipping teachers with the complex “mind” material. Always grateful for what I come away with – and her teachings are the gift that keeps on giving.
— Rebecca M.
The teacher training was a gentle and yet intense experience. I loved the focus on the 3 elements: Yin and Yang Yoga and Mindfulness. During the training we learned a lot of facts, didactics, knowledge about the wisdom traditions and it was also experiential, which helped the learning. Sarah has such a wealth of knowledge and experience and shares it with us – step by step. I already started teaching now and I feel well prepared for that.Thank you Sarah!

This was my first introduction to Sarah Powers. The wealth of information offered and her ability to communicate and impart knowledge with such generosity, kindness and patience was invaluable.

I would like to express my gratitude for an amazing week at Mandali. Thank you for sharing your insightful teachings, your warmth, compassion and for taking us to a place of such extraordinary beauty. The retreat reminded me about the saying: “life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by those moments that take our breath away.” It felt as if the spaciousness of the outer environment became one with the inner space as my awareness grown through out the week.
— Regina K.

This was my third silent retreat and it was wonderful. This retreat was different because of the diads. For me this opened me up to a greater sense of community, which I am longing for. The other two times has been a deeper silence and more solitude for me. I also found myself understanding the teachings more clearly. It was a unique blend of silence, buddhist teachings and yoga that I find very rare in yoga community today. Thank you!

I am very happy that I met Sarah for at least a (first) weekend – as I am a psychologist and psychotherapist. She had been recommended to me years before as being ‘absolutely essential’ for me: Right from the first movement, from the first word she dedicated to us, I was impressed about the stock of knowledge and experience, about her coherence between her cognitive and emotional intentions and achievements in the group. Never before in my yogi life have I seen a yoga teacher personality with such an impressive range of consecutively aligned and deeply formulated authentic truths, that were both explanatory and leading the way to touching and awakening. She offers authentic coherence between analytic and intuitive, between psychology and yoga/buddhism, between body, heart and mind… on a very high and integrated level. Thanks and love to you Sarah.

The love and presence presented from the very first day was exceptional. It offered a space of calmness and trust which made anyone fall into a surrender. Entering into a mindful state of everything we are attending to was amazing. That is definitely a state i would like to attend to at all times. i felt empowered to keep the practice with all that was happening inside and out.
Thank you

This was my first training with Sarah and I can say from the heart that it provided the best education of my life in terms of its usefulness within my own practice. I learned ways to traverse thoughts that were plaguing me since childhood—it was a very powerful and potent experience and I highly recommend this training. I look forward to the next one.

Workshop with Ty
Heartfelt thanks for the awesome weekend you hosted at Triyoga. I have come away with a deeper sense of clarity and purpose with a great structure/foundation to work with ongoingly to assist me in making all changes and transitions as powerful as the one i am just completing.
Thank you for holding us all in a gentle but deeply powerful space, i really appreciate it! I very much look forward to working with you again.

I have attended several of Sarah’s workshops over the years. I can’t express my gratitude enough. Each workshop is like a retreat and helped me get on track more easily each time. Sarah’s teaching methods and programmes are practical, sustainable and truly beneficial. By that I mean they work, and can be fitted into a busy work schedule or be extended when time permits.
— Rita M.
One of the BEST yoga workshops I have ever attended. The structure and pace kept me engaged. I particularly liked the way Sarah showed us how to create our daily practice. Weaving the philosophies of Buddhism, Taoism and Yoga styles was AMAZING! I learned so much. Thank you for sharing your experiences and knowledge in such an accessible and beautiful way…
— Diana E.
I very much enjoyed the entire workshop and experiencing Sarah’s teaching in person. My greatest take away from the weekend was the revelation of putting pranayama and meditation at the beginning of practice. Since the workshop, I have been doing just that and it has transformed my personal practice. You CAN teach an older yogi new tricks 🙂 Thank you, Sarah! 🙏
